White in Winter

Remember this black sheer panel skirt I wore back in July? Totally obsessed with it [still]. Even though it's freezing outside, when this very similar white skirt showed up in the mail, I couldn't wait to throw it on! I've been wanting a white skirt like this for quite a while now and this one totally fits the bill. Come Spring, this skirt will be perfect!
To make the white skirt work for these colder months, I chose to pair it with an ivory quilted print sweatshirt from H&M [white on white would've been better but after browsing my closet, I liked this top best], a leather jacket [naturally], a faux fur snood [love], and black booties with peak-a-boo socks! While I'd prefer anything to make my legs look longer with a knee length skirt [like nude pumps or strappy heels], with the current temps, socks and booties had to be done!

Tips for wearing white in the winter: stick with neutrals or black and white, as I did, and add different textures, like my quilted top and faux fur snood --cozy knits and suede are always a great option as well [btdubz, I have no idea what's up with the shadows here but my knees def aren't that dark IRL --I bathe, I swear].

Statement Scarf

I touched on the subject last week of how important scarves are; how they can be the finishing touch to an outfit or, in this case, the extra oomph an outfit needs. It's amazing what a patterned scarf can do with an otherwise, [gasp], basic outfit.
I know this bag totally does not "work" with this outfit --too many browns-- BUT I wore this on our drive to Kansas, had the bag with me, and realized I've never shown it on the blog before so a fashion faux pas just had to be done! Please, forgive me.
Anywho, I also really wanted to introduce you two because it's now offered in a gorgeous oxblood color. You need this bag if you don't have it already! I've had it for two years and use it all the time. It's perfect for overnight stays [even though we all know I always have a mini rolling suitcase with me, too] and looks more expensive than it is. The inside is this luxurious looking faux suede which is really nice, too.
Get it --& thank me later.

Crosses & Lace

Today, I'm bringing you another look from Obsession Boutique! You can see my other outfits from their store here, here, here, & here!

When they sent me this tank top, it really brought me back to my high school days when I was obsessed with skulls and crosses. While I'm so glad to be out of high school [and done with school, period], it was nice to reminisce!

Sheer Panel Midi

Sooo this skirt... I mean, it's just too adorable. I can't get over it. So obsessed. I've been dying to try out the midi skirt trend but haven't been fond of anything I have found thus far. No skirt seemed to be "my style" plus, the price tags were a little so-so, if ya know what I mean. Thankfully, Obsession Boutique saved the day with their selection of cute and affordable clothing. This sexy sheer panel skirt is priced at $43.95 but you, my fabulous readers, can use code IMOBSESSED10 to get 10% off your entire order! Yahooo!
Remember my DIY clutch post? Here's the little beaut making her first appearance on the blog! She was the perfect choice to add a little pop to my all black ensemble. I also added an ear cuff [just one, two was two too many] to add a another pop but those pictures turned out awkward so you can go ahead and see that cuff here and purchase one for yourself to appreciate its fabulousness ;)

Note to self: do not apply lotion head to toe before heading out in 83 degree weather with outrageous humidity. It will melt and you will look like a wax figure.

Head to Obsession Boutique and get the skirt while it's still in stock! Use code IMOBSESSED10 to get 10% off your entire order. You will not regret it! As for sizing, I am typically a size six. Here, I'm wearing a medium and the skirt fits perfectly!

Sequins & Scallops

Oh heeeey! I'm sorry I've been absent the last week, so I decided it was only necessary to return with sequins! Sequins make everything better in my book --I hope you agree!
You may have noticed that I love a cute hemline [seen here & here], so when Obsession Boutique sent me this skirt >> instantly obsessed.  Plus, the store name is very fitting, no?
This sequin top and skirt combo may have had a little inspiration behind it as my boyfriend and I just booked a trip to St. Maarten for September. Sequins >>shells, sheer back >>sand, skirt >>ocean :D I've got the beach on the brain! Indulging in scallops will be necessary, too. If you've been to St. Maarten and have any recommendations, holla atcha girl!
Sequins are already a statement in themselves, so you really don't need to add any extra accessories. I opted for a dainty gold bracelet and necklace, and my Lauren Conrad earrings that I'm still obsessing over.

Must-have-maxi: Take 2

While shopping, I try to buy pieces that I know can be worn multiple ways --like this Shop Obsession dress! As you saw on my last post, I went the formal route and dressed this maxi up with heels and a gold plated belt. For this post, I wanted to style the dress as more of a festival look so I knotted a chambray shirt to dress the top of the dress down, then added gladiator sandals, a head wrap, and stacked on the bracelets!

I told you I'm obsessed with this book bag! I typically wear a cross-body bag to festivals or concerts [those hands are needed for booze and selfies] but this is my new go-to for summer!
The arm party [parties?] and rings are an assortment of bracelets I've acquired throughout the years; some from my mom, some made by friends [thanks, Katie!], some bought on vacations, some from local boutiques, etc.
Headwraps? Love them. My grandma always referred to the women in our family as gypsies and when I wear a headwrap, I feel like I fit the part!
The one I'm wearing is a few years old from Charlotte Russe. It's one that you actually have to wrap and tie, but I've included [lots of super cute] simpler versions below!
