Crosses & Lace

Today, I'm bringing you another look from Obsession Boutique! You can see my other outfits from their store here, here, here, & here!

When they sent me this tank top, it really brought me back to my high school days when I was obsessed with skulls and crosses. While I'm so glad to be out of high school [and done with school, period], it was nice to reminisce!

Ode to Audrey

As soon as I put this outfit on yesterday, I immediately thought of the iconic, Audrey Hepburn. The pearl collar, black lace, bows, black pumps, and the cat eye sunglasses are all things that I imagine I would've probably found in her [unbelievably fabulous, I'm sure] closet. Every piece in the closet being classy and timeless. Having her reflection in my bathroom mirror while getting ready probably added to this thought as well.

I wore this to a bridal shower yesterday and never will I ever, wear this top in extreme weather conditions again>> aka smoldering heat. Let's just say it was a mistake and I looked like I participated in a water balloon fight [thanks for the cami, Laura]. Luckily, it cooled down later in the day and I was able to take some pictures ;)

If you're short, high waisted anything is a great option for you as it will create the illusion that the lower body and legs start in a higher place, thus making your legs look amazing!

Tank: Dizzy Lizzy via TJMaxx [necklace option here] | Shorts: Sans Souci via TJMaxx [last seen here, similar here] | Earrings: F21 [similar here & here] | Rings: American Eagle [similar here & here], Charlotte Russe | Bracelets: Sira & Mara, F21 [similar here], Vintage [fun set here] | Bag: Nila Anthony via TJMaxx [similar here, dying over this one] | Heels: Charlotte Russe

Fun fact: I dressed up as Audrey Hepburn last year for Halloween. It was very last minute but still turned out pretty great and was a nice change from trying to dress a little... er, slutty? Take a looksy>>
I was also an owl one night last year, too. The old age is starting to set in...

I'll leave you all with a little Monday motiviation from Audrey herself: "Nothing is impossible, the word itself says 'I'm possible'!"

Day to Play

There are many occasions when I'm out running errands and don't have time to go home and change before meeting someone for a drink or dinner. The best option is to wear something that easily transitions from "day to play". Wear the military jacket during the day to dress the outfit down. When it's time to go out, take the jacket off and you're ready to go!
[If you're not into wearing heels to run errands, keep them stashed away until needed and wear some flats like these or these.]

"Grungy" green[as I like to call it], ivory/white, and black are one of my favorite color combos. I would normally automatically reach for my leather shorts with this outfit but because I didn't have any stripes or other patterns going on, I chose the lace shorts to add a little texture.

Black and white is such a classic combo that this outfit would pretty much work anywhere, so if you know you're headed out later, but don't know where, B+W is your BFF -- & I'm still obsessing over my new leopard clutch [obvi].
