Senior Pics

These pictures were taken last Monday, on my last day of school [ever!], so the title of this post just made sense. Plus, most of the pictures are so incredibly cheesy [since my mother and I can't be serious together] that I couldn't help but think of when I had my senior pictures taken. Lots of embellished jeans, tied crop tops, and denim mini skirts were involved. Good times.

 

 

 

 

 

I wore this same outfit a few weeks ago to meet two of my best friends for dinner. Instead of these Sperry's, I wore these brown strappy heels. Of course, I liked the look with heels better but I wasn't allowing that as an option for strutting around campus.

 While we're chatting about senior pictures, here's a throwback of one with my first little baby, Bella, who happens to be Chloe & Bentley's mom, and who also happens to turn 9 tomorrow! :D

Fun Bun + Sun

 Last Thursday the weather was amazing, compared to the cold temperatures we've been dealing with, and I was so happy to be outside with only a lite jacket. Reminds me of Miss Congeniality. "Miss Rhode Island, please describe your idea of a perfect date." >> "That's a tough one. I'd have to say April 25th. Because it's not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket."

 

 

  I've been pretty casual lately, not putting much effort into my look [note: the hair]. BUT atleast there is something real nice to look at >> this Michael Kors clutch I won through one of Leah's giveaways! Eeeeek! I was so excited! Isn't she a beaut?

Add a Statement

 

Sometimes all you need, to take an outfit to the next level, or to add that finishing touch, is a statement piece. Whether that be a necklace, a pair of earrings, a coat, heels, a clutch, whatever. This GiGi New York clutch was a Christmas gift from Jeremy and I'm obsessed. I have been on the hunt for the "perfect" black clutch for a very long time now and this one meets all of my requirements: texture, monogrammed, gold hardware, and a cute little tassel. Plus the quality is amazing and the inside smells of leather [which I love].

Gloomy days call for a playful outfit; insert sparkly statement necklace, neon sweater, and leopard print!

I've actually had these jeans for years but this is the first time I've worn them. Weird, right?  I'm glad I kept them around, though!

What's your take on flares? I'm into it --especially for shorter frames. In a dark wash like this, they make legs look slimmer and extra long.

Not Your Boyfriend's

Menswear for women is a popular trend this fall, so it's a no brainer that the ultimate man's jacket is making a huge comeback: the varsity jacket... only this one is a chic, more fitted version than your [ex]boyfriend's letterman jacket you wanted to wear after the football game. I purchased this one at Charlotte Russe a few months ago [you know I can't say no to faux leather sleeves & it was on sale for $15!] but I've included seven other cute options below. I'd suggest sizing down a bit to avoid the jacket looking too bulky. I also love this varsity cardigan sweater from Target.

 

 

I wanted to balance out the masculinity of the jacket and make it a little tomboy-chic so I added a statement necklace and metallic pumps. This jacket is also perfect for a day of tailgating or Sunday Funday while cheering on your favorite team! Or if you're like me, just an excuse to wear cute sports gear and meet your friends at the bar. I cheered for basketball for two years, and football for three. Couldn't tell you a thing about either...

Sweatshirt With A Statement

 It's amazing how one statement piece can transform an outfit and take it to another level. While I feel that accessories are the finishing touches to an outfit, I also think that a lot of the time, the jewelry is what makes the outfit; like this look.

 

 This type of get up is one of my favorite kinds --super casual but still cool. Whenever I don't know what to wear, I head to my Princess Room, scope out the jewels and shoes, and go from there.

On this day, I had a bunch of errands to run so I knew I was going to wear flats, and this necklace was screaming to be worn, so that was an easy start. I then headed to my closet in search of a top to dress the necklace down so I reached for this denim-looking sweatshirt from H&M. I threw on leather shorts and loafers because I still wanted the outfit somewhat polished.

I mean, do necklaces get any prettier than this?!  

I can't even tell you how many compliments I got on it. Every woman that passed by couldn't take their eyes off of it or would walk towards me, eyes fixated and mesmerized by the necklace, asking, "Where did you guys this?" as they reached for the sparkly jewels surrounding my neck. 

Definitely one of my favorites, for sure.

 

 Of course Big Lim had to join me on this outing... which by the way, I recently realized my laptop easily fits inside. He's going to be a great travel companion.
