Break-Up Box Giveaway

The unfortunate truth about the holiday season is that a lot of couples don't always come out of it together. I don't know if it's the not wanting to meet the family, or not wanting to dish out money on gifts [lame], but so many relationships seem to fall apart when the holidays roll around. 'Tis the season to break up, I suppose! While I'm not experiencing a break up myself, I've gone through them in the past and [generally] they're never fun --aside from the perk of working extra hard to look hot and you come out with a rockin' bod.

[weights & hair ties not included ;)]

I've teamed up with Break-Up Box to give one lucky reader all the necessities they need, or their friend needs, to get through their most recent break up [...or future? Save this sh!t & you'll be prepared]! Your relationship is better than ever and all your friends are in-love, too? [gross. #JK] Go ahead and enter the giveaway, anyway! This box is full of the perfect necessities to make you feel pampered & fabulous!

The lucky winner will receive "Chad" which is the largest break-up box. Here's all the goodies included:
  • A sappy DVD [mine was The Notebook]
  • Box of Scotties tissues [which came pretty in pink!]
  • Mini box of assorted chocolates
  • Swedish Fish [need I say more?]
  • Lipgloss
  • Boyfriend Detox stemless wine glass
  • Aroma-therapy candle
  • Exfoliating Loofah
  • Facial Sheet Mask
  • Restless Nights Relief Mineral Bath Soak
  • Stress & Tension Relief Mineral Bath Soak
  • Bottle of Coconut & Macadamia Nut Oil Hand & Body Lotion [smells like vacation --I give it two thumbs up!]
  • Heel to Toe foot softener [rub this on the soles of your feet, slip on some socks, and wake up silky smooth!]
  • Gel eye mask [feels amazing when you have a headache]
  • 50 Boyfriends Worse Than Yours book [that will most definitely make you feel better]
  • 3 mini bottles of margarita mix [just add tequila!]
  • Pink plastic Boyfriend Detox water bottle [who says you have to put water in there?]
  • Boyfriend Detox Tank top [size large]
  • A Boyfriend Detox sticker [that you can slap on your shirt or forehead the next time you go out, just so all men know what's up. A nonchalant F off and "Don't even try." --we all know we're bitter for a while]

Break-Up Box also offers two other sizes of break-up boxes; Trevor & Matt [how hilarious/perfect if these really are your exes names?]. Enter the giveaway with the rafflecopter below!

a Rafflecopter giveaway Giveaway ends 12/30/14 at 12:00 A.M. central time. Winner will be announced on 01/02/15.

Good luck! xx

Gorgeous Gifts

Now that I've shared my gift guides with you [see Glam Girl, Gifts for Him, Girl on the Go, Gifts for the Host], and you've purchased all these fabulous gifts, you're going to need some equally as fabulous gift wrap! [*Confession: I stockpile wrapping paper. It's a serious addiction. If I spot a pretty paper, you bet your sweet A$$ I'm buying it!]

When it comes to gifting, my least favorite part is the shopping --it takes a lot of time and energy to hunt down the perfect gifts! Besides, we all know we shop best for ourselves ;D Anywho, my favorite part about gifting? Wrapping the gifts! I usually get frustrated half way through the wrapping process because it takes forever [when you have OCD like me], but once all the gifts are wrapped and gorgeous, the frustration is totally worth it.

For the men I'm shopping for this year, I'm using craft paper to wrap the gifts, then slapping on a sticky mustache in replace of bows. Craft paper is fun because the possibilities are endless! Add sparkly twine, paint on the paper, draw on the paper and make people guess which gift belongs to who, based off the drawings, doodle some designs with glue then add glitter and *shake it off* [thanks, Taylor], cut out some felt and do a little somethin like this, etc.

For the girls I'm gifting, it's simple: glitter, shine, and sparkle, of course.

If you're still on the hunt for the perfect paper to show off under your tree, I am obsessed with this Kate Spade "reversible" wrapping paper and you can never go wrong with Gray Malin print! No time to order? My go-to places for wrapping paper is T.J.Maxx and Target.
I love this wrapping paper.
This chevron is supes fancy.
This Elf on the Shelf gift wrap is too cute.
Here are some others that would look just lovely under the tree:

If you're not quite to the wrapping phase, and you're still having difficulties finding those perfect gifts, challenge yourself to a fancy DIY! Start by doing a little creeping on the giftee's DIY Pinterest board. We all know we pin a million things on Pinterest with full intent to actually complete them [whether that includes DIYs, recipes, exercising], buuut unfortunately, that rarely happens... #guilty. Do some browsing on your BFF's Pinterest boards and find yourself a project! Before you start, do some creeping on their Instagram [& maybe Facebook, too!]. We all know if they actually took the time to complete the DIY, it's on their Instagram! Fact: it never happened if it was not documented. If they did complete this project, and didn't share it, it was probably a flop. Not only will they be so happy for your success, but you saved yourself some dollahz and gifted them something you know is one of a kind :D Top it off with this DIY bow, tie it off with a cute gift tag like this one, and viola!

Stop by the blog Friday for a giveaway!

Gift Guide: For the Host

With the holidays right around the corner, we all have parties and gatherings to attend and you never want to show up empty-handed. Aside from what's most important [what you're going to wear], what's also important is what you'll gift the host! A bottle of wine or champagne is always an obvious choice [carry it in this], but if you'd like to challenge yourself to something different, here's a few ideas $50 or less! No parties to attend? Don't feel like a loser. You could also gift these to that friend [I know you have at least one --& she's talkin' to ya'] who loves to entertain!

My boyfriend and I made some apple pie moonshine a couple weekends ago so we'll probably be handing those out along with a few of the items above!
If you're interested in making your own moonshine, we used this recipe here but didn't use vodka. I read other reviews on different recipes and most of them recommended using Everclear only because the vodka flavor stands out too much. With our leftover juices, we made a smaller "batch" and decided to add vodka to those. The flavor was still good but I prefer the moonshine with just Everclear better. Btw, we used Everclear 190 proof & poured in a bottle & a half --I have a heavy pour. It's delicious but I'll warn you ahead of time: it's strong... which is fine because let's face it, we all deserve a buzz when we have to be around family for long periods of time.

Be sure to check out my other under $50 gift guides for the Glam Girl & For Him!

White in Winter

Remember this black sheer panel skirt I wore back in July? Totally obsessed with it [still]. Even though it's freezing outside, when this very similar white skirt showed up in the mail, I couldn't wait to throw it on! I've been wanting a white skirt like this for quite a while now and this one totally fits the bill. Come Spring, this skirt will be perfect!
To make the white skirt work for these colder months, I chose to pair it with an ivory quilted print sweatshirt from H&M [white on white would've been better but after browsing my closet, I liked this top best], a leather jacket [naturally], a faux fur snood [love], and black booties with peak-a-boo socks! While I'd prefer anything to make my legs look longer with a knee length skirt [like nude pumps or strappy heels], with the current temps, socks and booties had to be done!

Tips for wearing white in the winter: stick with neutrals or black and white, as I did, and add different textures, like my quilted top and faux fur snood --cozy knits and suede are always a great option as well [btdubz, I have no idea what's up with the shadows here but my knees def aren't that dark IRL --I bathe, I swear].

Sweater: H&M [similar here]| Skirt: Obsession Boutique c/o | Faux Fur Snood: Express | Earrings: Sammy Dress [another glam pair here, lots of options here]| Rings: Charlotte Russe | Clutch: Kate Spade Saturday via TJMaxx | Booties: DSW [similar here]

Don't forget to check out all the other items Obsession Boutique has to offer! I'm loving this sweater and this romper --so cute!

Under $50: Gifts For Him

Am I the only one who thinks men are difficult to shop for? I feel like they already own everything they want [or is that just my boyfriend?] so we're left to gift them all the [typically, boring, in my opinion] things they typically wouldn't buy for themselves.
Growing up with two brothers, I've learned it's pretty difficult to get your sizes right when buying clothing for men so I only included one basic tee in the set, because those are almost guaranteed to fit, and a sweatshirt that would be a good layering piece. Again, all items included are $50 or less [you can see my previous gift guide for the Glam Girl here]! Click on items to shop!

Socks are fun. Socks are cool. Socks are fashionable. Socks are great conversation starters in a waiting room [if you're a Talkative Tony].

The first gift options that always come to mind for me, for men, is ridiculous socks, cologne, fancy travel bags, belts, wallets, ties, athletic gear, items that have to do with booze, ect. [like I said, boring... except for maybe the last one]. Other ideas include buying them tickets to a game, gift cards to their favorite stores or restaurants, surprising them by pre-paying for a month or so of their gym membership payments, planning a weekend getaway for the two of you [or his buds?], purchasing a few items for his BFF [see leather dog leash above].
After all of these gifts he'll be receiving, he's going to need a few thank you cards, right? One of my addictions is stationary and you know men aren't going to buy these for themselves.

I'd love to hear what your go-to gifts are for the men in your life.
Ready, GO!
