White in Winter

Remember this black sheer panel skirt I wore back in July? Totally obsessed with it [still]. Even though it's freezing outside, when this very similar white skirt showed up in the mail, I couldn't wait to throw it on! I've been wanting a white skirt like this for quite a while now and this one totally fits the bill. Come Spring, this skirt will be perfect!
To make the white skirt work for these colder months, I chose to pair it with an ivory quilted print sweatshirt from H&M [white on white would've been better but after browsing my closet, I liked this top best], a leather jacket [naturally], a faux fur snood [love], and black booties with peak-a-boo socks! While I'd prefer anything to make my legs look longer with a knee length skirt [like nude pumps or strappy heels], with the current temps, socks and booties had to be done!

Tips for wearing white in the winter: stick with neutrals or black and white, as I did, and add different textures, like my quilted top and faux fur snood --cozy knits and suede are always a great option as well [btdubz, I have no idea what's up with the shadows here but my knees def aren't that dark IRL --I bathe, I swear].

Plaid & Pleather

Merry Christmas! Juuust kidding... but seriously. Doesn't the red/green combo in these pictures make you think of Christmas? After all, it's only 12 Fridays away... but who's really counting?! Anyway!
I'm back :) Back from my vacation to St. Maarten [pictures to come] and my apparent vacation from blogging --I'm sorry!-- but I have good news! I just ordered the iPhone 6 [I've always been an android user so this will be difficult fun] and, aside from now being a part of the emoji club [insert hands in the air emoji], you will be able to shop my Instagram pictures [I'll fill you in on that later]. I also just bought a Mac [it's gorgeous as ever] with Photoshop so I won't have to go out to the school to edit every post --hallelujah! As I'm no longer a student, I'm sure this will please the people working in the computer lab. Blogging from home [hopefully] equals more blog posts!
Now, the outfit...
As we transition from summer to fall, it can be a wee bit difficult to decide on your #ootd. The weather is typically cooler in the morning, then by mid day it's hot as F! For me, this outfit is the middle ground. The leather shorts keep it cool because you're keeping the legs bare, and warm enough because they're [faux] leather... and leather is warm. Genius, I know. I then added the plaid top which was find at TJ [as most of my closet is] and black booties to add that fall touch! Voila!

Top: Seven via TJMaxx [this one, I dig.]| Shorts: JCPenney | Earrings: LC Lauren Conrad | Necklaces: HM | Cuffs: HM [similar here]| Ring: HM | Clutch: Kate Spade Saturday via TJMaxx | Booties: Diba

What kind of looks do you gravitate towards while transitioning from summer to fall?!
