Statement Scarf

I touched on the subject last week of how important scarves are; how they can be the finishing touch to an outfit or, in this case, the extra oomph an outfit needs. It's amazing what a patterned scarf can do with an otherwise, [gasp], basic outfit.
I know this bag totally does not "work" with this outfit --too many browns-- BUT I wore this on our drive to Kansas, had the bag with me, and realized I've never shown it on the blog before so a fashion faux pas just had to be done! Please, forgive me.
Anywho, I also really wanted to introduce you two because it's now offered in a gorgeous oxblood color. You need this bag if you don't have it already! I've had it for two years and use it all the time. It's perfect for overnight stays [even though we all know I always have a mini rolling suitcase with me, too] and looks more expensive than it is. The inside is this luxurious looking faux suede which is really nice, too.
Get it --& thank me later.

Tuxedo & Florals

Canadian Tuxedos are best worn with florals. Or atleast on this day it was. I have been eying the Steve Madden floral heels for a while now but wasn't able to pull the trigger because I wasn't sure how much use I'd get out of them. Theeeen, dun dun dunnnn, I stumbled across these little beauts. At $32, I couldn't say no. Plus, I have so many pairs of ankle strap heels that look nearly identical, so I love that the straps on these will kind of switch it up ;)

Yes, these are the same shorts I wore in my last post. Repeat offender? Guilty.

1st Blog Birthday!

When I first started my blog, I wanted to do something grand for its "first birthday" like champs, balloons, a fancy dress, etc. However, it snuck up on me when I was hanging out yesterday and realized my one year blog birthday is today! So much for planning ahead, huh? Time flies. I celebrated with carry out instead.
After realizing my grand plan wasn't going to happen today, I remembered these pink bow shoe clips that I've been hanging on to. I spotted them while checking out at H&M just before I started my blog and just after my blog logo was created. While I knew I would probably never wear them [except for celebrations like this!], they couldn't match my logo more perfectly >> #meanttobe. I did a few giddy jumps of excitement because it felt like my little secret. At the time, no one knew what my blog name was going to be, or had seen my logo, besides myself and two others. We will call these my blog heels.

Thank you for following along with Because I'm Obsessed this past year! I have so much fun sharing my personal style, tips, and other nonsense with all of you & enjoy seeing and hearing yours in return. I love knowing there are so many others out there who have a love & obsession for fashion as much as I do! xx

Easy Breezy

While I love getting all dolled up, nothing beats being able to throw something on and go. Even though it's been so humid this week [note: my hair], the county fair is going on and I don't know about you, but being at an outdoor concert with a cold brew in hand is one of the best feelings --and I don't want to miss out! A dress like this American Eagle one is the perfect choice to stay cool. Adding a bralette and booties? Doesn't get much more comfortable than that. Plus, this dress is great because it doubles as a swim suit cover up! A little two in one action --I like it.

Note: You may want to wear boy-short underwear orrrr a slip of some sort under these tiny dresses. As soon as I left my house, one little gust of wind blew my entire dress up and my poor neighbor lady saw everything :/ oops, sorry!

Senior Pics

These pictures were taken last Monday, on my last day of school [ever!], so the title of this post just made sense. Plus, most of the pictures are so incredibly cheesy [since my mother and I can't be serious together] that I couldn't help but think of when I had my senior pictures taken. Lots of embellished jeans, tied crop tops, and denim mini skirts were involved. Good times.

I wore this same outfit a few weeks ago to meet two of my best friends for dinner. Instead of these Sperry's, I wore these brown strappy heels. Of course, I liked the look with heels better but I wasn't allowing that as an option for strutting around campus.

While we're chatting about senior pictures, here's a throwback of one with my first little baby, Bella, who happens to be Chloe & Bentley's mom, and who also happens to turn 9 tomorrow! :D
